We have heard many complaints from people in corporate about if they were to work at home:

– They would be so distracting

– My office gives me purpose

– I would be so lonely

– I would be horrible at managing my time

Well, we believe all of these adverse effects of working from home can be avoided!

Here are some tips and tricks when working from home:

1. Make a shared working environment. Yes, you can invite others to join you in working from home- there is a whole working from home community (check out https://sparechair.me/).

2. Organize your time on a calendar. Make sure you sit down for 30 minutes every week to schedule in tasks like you would do at a corporate job.

3. Make a space you love. By doing so, it will inspire you to do better work. Better yet, find a few spaces, like a pool side, or porch if you miss the outdoors – by being your own boss you can work from wherever.

4. Create a space where you can limit distractions. Maybe you work in your living room – that is fine, you can find a curtain divider during the day so that if you live with others their in and outs will not distract you. Also, make clear with loved ones that it is important for you to be focused. You can also make sure the space you are in does not have TV, or you can only allow yourself to one browser so you can focus.
